ARINC Airports AirVue at Durango Airport Case Study

While air service at many regional airports has been shrinking over the past 10 years, the Durango-La Plata County Airport has doubled in size, growing from around 190,000 to almost 385,000 passengers annually during that time.

The significant growth of the Colorado-based airport has been fueled by an increase in regional business activity, a surge in tourism, and by a large increase in the overall residential population attracted by the scenic beauty and outdoor activities available in the area. “Our growth has been so substantial that we are now the fifth busiest commercial service airport in Colorado and the preeminent airport for the region,” said Tony Vicari, Airport Operations Manager at Durango.
